Infectious mononucleosis (IM) can resemble more serious infections that demand urgent treatment.
Rapidly identifying or eliminating IM is vital to shorten the course of the illness, reduce severity of symptoms, reduce likelihood of complications, and reduce spread to others. The Acceava® Mono Cassette test is a one-step antibody test for IM that uses direct solid-phase immunoassay technology to detect IM heterophile antibodies in human serum, plasma, or whole blood.
The Acceava Mono Cassette test is a rapid, specific immunoassay to differentiate Infectious mononucleosis from other causes of pharyngitis and lymphocytosis. This simple point of care test provides an answer during the patient visit, enabling better patient care whilst reducing the unnecessary use of antibiotics which has shown to increase the incidence of antibiotic resistant bacteria.
