SOFTWARE UPDATE VERSION 21.16

This recommended update for the Afinion™ 2 introduces a new feature for connected customers and includes an enhanced troubleshooting feature introduced in version 21.15.

Software version 21.16 enables customers using connectivity to automatically transmit patient and control results to their LIS/HIS/EMR systems.*  This automation improves workflow by eliminating the need to press the green checkmark to transmit results. 

*Auto-Send requires a middleware or LIS/HIS/EMR system that supports this functionality via the POCTIA communication protocol. For compatibility information, please contact your connectivity provider or Abbott representative.

Software version 21.16 also builds upon improvements introduced in version 21.15, including:

  • A new feature that displays a log of information codes as well as an additional 4/5-digit service code that can enhance troubleshooting.
  • Information code 204 will be displayed for the Afinion 2 Lipid Panel test if the bilirubin level of the sample is elevated.
  • Updated the QC lockout screen to improve presentability of text display in French, Italian, Spanish or Greek languages.
  • Additional reliability improvements are detailed in the Afinion 2 customer release notes and will be provided by email after completing the software download form below.

Software download available for Afinion 2 analyzers on all software versions.

Software update not applicable to the Alere AS100™ analyzer. The current AS100 software is 7.05. To upgrade AS100 analyzers on software 7.04 and lower to the latest version, please contact your local customer service center to order a pre-loaded compatible USB.
