BinaxNOW™ RSV ist ein immunchromatographischer In-vitro-Schnelltest für den Nachweis von Fusionsprotein-Antigenen des RSV (respiratorischen Synzytialvirus) aus Nasenspülwasser- und Nasopharyngealabstrichproben (NP) bei symptomatischen Patienten. Der Test dient der Diagnose von RSV-bedingten Infektionen bei Säuglingen und Kindern bis zum fünften Lebensjahr.
RSV ist die häufigste Ursache schwerer Atemwegserkrankungen bei kleinen Kindern. BinaxNOW™ RSV ist einer der am einfachsten anzuwendenden Tests, die sich heutzutage auf dem Markt befinden, und hilft, eine Ausbreitung der Infektion zu verhindern.
Vor der Einweisung ins Krankenhaus können wertvolle Informationen gewonnen werden, wodurch die Verbreitung von RSV-Infektionen eingedämmt werden kann.
