RPA. The versatile PCR replacement.

Recombinase Polymerase Amplification (RPA), is transforming our ability to amplify and detect nucleic acids in laboratory and resource-limited field settings.

TwistDx™ isothermal nucleic acid amplification technology, Recombinase Polymerase Amplification (RPA), represents a hugely versatile alternative to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the development of fast, portable, nucleic acid detection assays.

Inherently adaptable to applications as diverse as infectious disease diagnostics and food contamination tests, RPA is ideally suited to:

test
Field
test
Point-of-care
test
Other settings with
minimal resources

Easily transportable, user friendly and highly sensitive, RPA is as specific as PCR amplification but is much, much faster. Results are typically generated within 3-10 minutes. And unlike PCR, the RPA reaction doesn’t require thermal or chemical melting, so there’s no need for an expensive thermoycler or any additional equipment or reagents.

TwistAmp® lyophilised (freeze-dried) kits are conveniently provided in a format ideally suited to taking out in the field, point-of-care and other settings with minimal resources. TwistAmp® Liquid aims to supply bulk liquid forms of core RPA components which end-users may combine at various scales to create master mixes for their own applications.
TwistAmp exo

TwistAmp® exo

Real-time fluorescent DNA amplification made possible with a TwistAmp® exo kit. Recommended for users who want to combine TwistDx’s RPA amplification technology with the use of TwistDx’s proprietary fluorescent TwistAmp® exo probe in a homogenous format. The user need only supply primers, probe, and template.
TwistAmp Basic

TwistAmp® Basic

DNA amplification made possible with a TwistAmp® Basic kit. Contains all the enzymes and reagents necessary for the amplification of DNA, the user needs only supply primers and template. TwistAmp® Basic has been used for solid-phase, tailed primers, aptamers, electrochemistry and microarray applications.
Twistamp liquid basic

TwistAmp® Liquid Basic

DNA amplification in a flexible liquid format. Contains all the enzymes and reagents necessary for the amplification of DNA, the user need only supply primers, dNTPs and template.
Perfect for:
  • End-point gel electrophoresis DNA detection
  • Down-stream applications (e.g. sub-cloning)
  • Facilitating use of different RPA reaction volumes, or variation of component ratios.
TwistAmp exo

TwistAmp® Liquid exo

Real-time fluorescent DNA amplification in a flexible liquid format. Recommended for users who want to combine RPA with the use of TwistDx’s proprietary fluorescent TwistAmp® exo Probes. In addition to the basic components, a powerful nuclease (Exonuclease III) is provided which will process TwistAmp® exo Probes during the amplification reaction itself and generate a real-time readout. The user need only supply primers, probe, dNTPs and template.
TwistAmp® exo positive control template

TwistAmp® exo positive control template

A ready made assay – exo positive control DNA template (for use with product TwistAmp® exo positive control oligo mix CONTROL01EXO). Useful for application development or further positive control testing. Use in combination with the TwistAmp® exo kits (lyophilised or liquid) or the TwistAmp® nfo kit, for fluorescence detection.
Supplied as a single tube containing 100µl (1000 copies per µl) DNA template.
TwistAmp® exo positive control template (one tube) product code: CONTROL01DNAE
(Use in combination with TwistAmp® exo positive control oligo mix product code: CONTROL01EXO)
TwistAmp® exo positive control oligo mix

TwistAmp® exo positive control oligo mix

A ready-made assay – primers plus a FAM labelled exo probe (to be used with TwistAmp® exo positive control DNA template CONTROL01DNAE). Useful for application development or further positive control testing. Use in combination with the TwistAmp® exo kits (lyophilised or liquid) or the TwistAmp® nfo kit, for fluorescence detection.
One tube provides enough oligonucleotide mix to conduct eight 50 µl RPA reactions.
TwistAmp® exo positive control oligo mix (one tube) product code: CONTROL01EXO
(Use in combination with TwistAmp® exo positive control template product code: CONTROL01DNAE)
U-Star Disposable Nucleic Acid Lateral Flow Detection Units (pack of 20)

U-Star Disposable Nucleic Acid Lateral Flow Detection Units (pack of 20)

Units contain a lateral flow strip designed to detect a biotin and FITC (or FAM) labelled amplicon. Detection is performed in a sealed cartridge preventing cross-contamination from amplified products. U-star disposable units can be used to detect amplification products generated when using a TwistAmp® nfo kit in combination with a TwistAmp® nfo probe and labelled amplification primer. See U-Star guide [pdf link to be provided soon] for further information.
