The BinaxNOW™ Legionella Urinary Antigen Card is an in vitro rapid immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 antigen (L. pneumophila serogroup 1 antigen) in urine specimens from patients with symptoms of pneumonia. It is intended to aid in the presumptive diagnosis of Legionella infection (Legionnaires’ Disease) caused by L. pneumophila serogroup 1 in conjunction with culture and other methods. BinaxNOW Legionella Urinary Antigen card can be read visually or used in conjunction with the DIGIVAL™ reader.

BinaxNOW™ Legionella Urinary Antigen Card provides accurate, rapid identification of Legionnaires’ disease caused by Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1 with an easy-to-use technology. Rapid diagnosis of Legionnaires’ disease and early initiation of appropriate therapy has been shown to dramatically reduce morbidity and mortality. The BinaxNOW™ Legionella Urinary Antigen Card can be read visually or with the DIGIVAL™ reader which eliminates operator subjectivity and is designed to provide consistency in the reading of lateral flow test assays.
