The Bioline™ Onchocerciasis IgG4 test detects exposure to the parasite that causes onchocerciasis, Onchocerca volvulus, by detecting of IgG4 antibodies to Onchocerca volvulus Ov16 antigen, one of the parasite’s antigens. Onchocerciasis is also called river blindness, a leading cause of preventable blindness in Africa.
