BinaxNOW™ S. pneumoniae Antigen Card is a rapid assay for the detection of S. pneumoniae antigen in the urine of patients with pneumonia and in the cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) of patients with meningitis. It is intended to aid, in conjunction with culture and other methods, in the diagnosis of both pneumococcal pneumonia and pneumococcal meningitis.
BinaxNOW™ S. pneumoniae Antigen Card provides accurate, rapid identification of S. pneumoniae antigen in patients with pneumococcal pneumonia and pneumococcal meningitis with an easy-to-use technology, aiding physicians in providing rapid, focused therapy. This can lead to reducing healthcare costs, improving patient outcomes and aiding in the global fight against antibiotic resistance.
